Read & decide for yourself: Grand jury report on Penn State scandal

First - a warning - the report is graphic. And disturbing. But needs to be read as you formulate an opinion on this case.

Second - while I hate to even say this, Sandusky is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. While I have no doubt that this evidence is immense and damning, even he still gets his day in court.

That said, some quick thoughts …. 

I posted this quote from Desmond Tutu on my tumblr just a week or so ago. Little did I know I’d be pulling it up again already. “If you are neutral on situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”

Paterno, the graduate assistant, the janitor, the high school wrestling coach, the administration at Penn State and so many others just didn’t do enough (or sometimes anything) to stop Sandusky from ripping the innocence from young men over and over and over again. In neutrality, these folks chose the side of the oppressor - Jerry Sandusky.

That is not only a black eye for the people in and around Happy Valley, but on society. How can so many stand idly by while such atrocious acts are repeatedly committed? Legality aside, this is about more than following the rules of the school, this is about following your own moral compass, discerning from right and oh so wrong and taking a stand for a child that is unable to take a stand for himself.

I will tell you all right now in fair warning - if I ever in my life witness someone raping a child - or anyone for that matter - I WILL be calling 911 on you. That is if I don’t beat you to a pulp first.
